C.A.W.E.S MAKEOVER: PHASE 2

This set of rooms was so amazing for me. I love putting color together, it's so invigorating and uplifting! A perfect fit for the C.A.W.E.S wouldn't you agree???

Being surrounded by beauty and color raises your energy. I truly believe when you surround yourself around this type of energy, you can do anything! Color makes you happy, notice how you feel when you wear more color and keep away from boring black? Color truly raises your vibration and can help in healing, which is exactly what the women and children who stay at C.A.W.E.S. need.

I am so thankful to be able to help so many amazing women and their children, to help lift their spirits and give them the strength they need to heal and get back on their feet. www.empoweringwomentogether.info

Arranging Your Furniture

Have you ever felt that you are lousy when it comes to arranging the furniture in your home? That maybe you aren't feeling the flow, but you aren't quite sure where to even begin?

Try and look at your room in your mind on this diagram.

Divide your room mentally in your head. When you have it divided into four's, you can see the scale of the room in regards to weight.

If the majority of your furniture is in one corner of the square, think about how much weight is shifted on the one side. How can you get that nice flowing feeling when all the weight is on one side of the room?

Try arranging it so you fill up all the squares evenly with your main pieces. Try and have 36" of walking space around everything. Anything less will feel too tight and not flow smoothly.

Change is good, so why not try arranging your furniture on an angle away from the wall?

Have fun with this, move your entire room around until you feel good in your own space, this helps people who cannot visualize this in their own mind.

Planning a Renovation

If you are planning a renovation, here are a few things you might want to consider before you start!
  • What condition are your doors and windows in?
  • Are you needing any structural work?
  • What are your choices for:
    • Flooring
    • Paint
    • Millwork
    • Hardware
    • Lighting
    • Backsplashes
    • Plumbing fixtures
  • Pulling permits
  • Hiring a designer
  • Hiring a contractor
  • Setting up a garbage bin to haul out all the old stuff
As you can see there is a lot to think about before starting your renovation. In order for your project to run smoothly, you need to have a plan. Get your drawings done, make your selections for your new goodies and make sure they are all ordered on time.

Having the right people for the job is the key to having a renovation run smoothly and on time. If you think its just an easy job that can be thrown together with no planning, you might be in for a renovation disaster, and end up spending more money then you originally budgeted for.

Make Your Backyard Exciting!

With Spring in the air, don't forget to make your backyard exciting! It's just as important to have color outside as much as it is to have it inside. Color can make any space feel vibrant and alive. You can always paint your current pots and flower boxes to make changes without breaking the bank! Get your kids involved, let them paint rocks, and get them to plant their own seeds and watch them grow. They will be so proud and so grateful you included them!

Want some more peace and tranquility? Bring your own Zen home with crystals, fountains and Buddha. When you are sitting outside, you will hear the soft water trickle, and enjoy the warm feeling you get while having your own oasis right in your own backyard.

And  don't forget to accessorize. Citronella candles, vases with pussy willows, and more flowers will add so much excitement to your yard, you won't ever want to leave. Get yourself a storage box that you can load all the kids toys into so you can keep your yard clean and free from clutter.

Now let's talk about lighting!!!! Nothing sets the mood like lighting. Add some ambiant lighting to any space to add a warm inviting feeling all around. You can light your trees up, light candles, have lights in your fountain and even buy some garden accessories that light up by solar power!
