Furniture placement

When it comes to furniture placement, too much furniture can be overwhelming and not enough can leave the space feeling cold and empty. Just the right amount will leave the room feeling harmonious and warm.

The traffic is just as important as your focal point. It's purpose is not only for aesthetics , but also safety. You have to make sure that your traffic flow areas can allow for people to move around the room with ease.

If you can keep one thing in mind when designing your space, 3 words....."Keep it simple" make sure the scale of the furniture fits the space you are working with. Don't leave any dead space.  Too much stuff can be overbearing. If that means you need to purge some stuff, then what are you waiting for?

Measure your space so you can make sure the pieces you want to buy will fit the room perfectly!

Window treatments - treat your windows with style

So many times window treatments get missed. Treating your windows with style is like adding the final finishing touches to that space. Leaving your windows naked doesn't help finish off the room, it actually leaves it feeling cold and unfinished.

If you want that warm and inviting cozy feeling, you need to dress up your windows. Windows have definitely come a long way since Gramma's house. They can be soft and subtle and they are necessary if you really want to finish off your room.

From modern valances to beautiful silhouette blinds, your windows are crying for some fashion. Especially if you don't want to get blinded by the sun when you are trying to sit and eat supper, or getting dressed in your bedroom!

They don't have to break the bank either. If your working on a tight budget you can always make your own or buy pre-made panels and manipulate them to work for you.

Dress up your windows and your home will thank you!!!

How to attract more potential buyers to sell your home

Houses in today's market aren't selling like they use to, you have to do a bit more work to attract more potential buyers to sell your home. Are you thinking about listing your home? Or, is your home on the market and you aren't getting any movement???

Here are a few simple ways to attract more buyers now!

De-clutter
Pack up some of your stuff, don't overwhelm anyone who walks into your home with all your years of stuff, they will walk in and turn right back around. Nobody wants to feel that suffocating feeling of clutter when they are looking for their new home.

Clean your home with soap and water
Hire someone if you don't like to clean, but a dirty home will not attract a buyer. Have some sparkle so that your potential buyer can have a wow factor and be impressed.

De-personalize
Potential buyers walk into a home and want to be able to feel living there and having their own things in place. It's really hard for them to have that vision with all of your family pics everywhere all over your home.

You are going to move anyway, so why not get packing? Store some of your stuff so you have more of a chance of selling your home faster and for more money.
