Getting ready for BTB

So I went to Micheal's today, because I really need to start putting together my flower arrangement for my silent auction item for the BTB this year which includes this flower arrangement, picture frame (which I am still shopping around for) and a staging gift certificate. I LOVE these colors together seriously now all I want to do is get this all done RIGHT NOW! haha - Okay, so check these colors out!!!!!! Ouwwwwwwwwwwww

It doesn't look like much yet, but just wait! How can you tell I love what I do right. I just get way to excited when it comes to being creative, that's why I think I have so much energy to do what I have to do ....cause I absolutely love what I do. And I have an amazing family that love me so much :) Anyway...let's look at these items a little more closely so you can see how pretty it really is!!!!

Can't wait to put it all together. I will show you what it looks like when I am done. Just to fill you in tho in case your aren't sure what I am talking about when I say "Black Tie Bingo". It is our event that our Rotary Club committee members put on in Red Deer (http://www.clubrunner.ca). HUGE event for our city! Wait till I show you what the night looks like because I am decorating the whole place and OMG it is going to be so pretty, I get goosebumps just having the vision of how it will all look!! YAY! You are gonna love it, I betcha!

Also just wanted to say, I was at the dollar store today, and bought a few bags of rocks that I use for some of my flower arrangements, $1 a bag!!!! Can't get better then that my friends! They have tons of colors and styles, I bought a few white ones to use for the flowers I am making to use on the stage beside the podium!!! Pictures and decor will be shared don't worry, I can't wait to make those bad boys!!

Change your perspective

Hmmmmm how do I do that you say?! Well, if you can try and change the way you are viewing your "current situation" (whatever that may be) look at it from a different angle, see if from someone else's shoes......you will see it from a different light and this may help you get the answers you are seeking.

Color has meaning...WHAT????

You betcha!!! Color has meaning, and by not identifying the different characteristics of color, you can really change the mood of your entire space.

Right now I am working on a project with the Central Alberta Women's Emergency Centre, raising funds to do room makeover's to the entire home. Check it out at www.empoweringwomentogether.info

We have to keep the walls to 1 paint color, for maintenance purposes, with 36 rooms, they aren't scanning through piles of paint cans to touch up each room with a different color. Get the concept? Alright, so right now the rooms are a YELLOW!  So, we hear yellow we think, awwwww the sun shines yellow, what a warm and inviting color right? This is true. Yet there is a negative aspect to YELLOW, it can also bring on anxiety and depression!! Yuck right....I don't like that one bit, especially not for the rooms for women and their children to come to start a new life. Right???

So saying that I am going next week to pick a new paint color, I would like to find a nice soft warm Green! Green is the color of balance and growth! I like the sounds of that already.

If you find that you cannot repaint an entire room, and want to keep it small and simple, you can always add colors with crystals, or pillows to bring in some positive energy with color, on a smaller budget!

Down time

So being sick for a couple days has really taught me a few things. With all this time to think being stuck at home I keep reminding myself that I can't just take down time when I'm sick!

We have to take time for ourselves each and everyday! Not just when we are so drained from so much go go go that we are forced to relax and let the body heal!

Our life is so short and should not only consist of work work work! Yes we have to work, but we also need to enjoy ourselves and spend time with our family! Because without family's, I don't care how much money you have, you are not going to feel complete or have a fulfilled and uplifting life!

To feel empowered we need down time, each and every one of us :)

Texture???? Don't be afraid of it, embrace it!!!!

When your room starts to feel old and tired, a great way to bring it back to life is to add some texture! Don't be afraid of fabric, embrace it!!!! It can be one of the simplest, most attractive ways to add color to your space.

Fabric's don't have to remind of us grandma's house anymore! There are sooooo many different colors, shapes, patterns, the sky is the limit. But don't cut your room short by not adding these important elements that help finish the room and add that cozy warm feeling.

The fun part about changing things like pillows can be a very low cost when you get bored, you can update these items that won't break the bank but give your space that change that you are so in need of.

Don't be afraid to throw bright splashes of color in your pillows!!! Color can be such a powerful energy uplift.

Take a hike :)

Ever feel like you are so overwhelmed with everyday life?? Being busy all the time can really start to bog you down. Getting out into the true beauty of nature can really help to relieve that stress ball and get those creative juices flowing again!!!

Soaking up all mother nature has to offer can help release those energies that just bring you down and help uplift your senses and bring you back to feeling more grounded and alive.

I always feel like I can connect with this true beauty and it really helps me to let go and allow all the creative juices to flow!!! I come up with new ideas as I call them "visions" that help me with my next plan of action. I'm a dreamer and I never stop dreaming. I believe that we are all here on purpose and with creative skills to bring to life and feel so empowered from it all.

You will be blown away all the great fun creative ideas that come your way when you really let go and leave all the hustle and bustle behind and start to let your mind rest.

Connecting with mother nature will connect you with all you need to move forward! Believe in yourself, take that first step, and never give up! You can have anything you want in this life you just need to believe in yourself and your on your way!

Birthday Parties

Don't you just love birthday parties??? Especially for your kids! It gives me so much joy to see how happy my daughter is on her birthday now that she is getting older! This year we did a Hello Kitty theme. Everything was Hello Kitty, and she just loved it.  But nothing makes a party more loving and fun then to have those amazing friends and family over to share it with you.

I can't thank my friends and family enough for coming out to share our special day. We had so many laughs, and that's really what it is all about.  Hearing all the kids laughing, and running around makes for a party well done!!!! When you can hear the joy and fun in the kids, it really makes you stop and think to enjoy every moment yourself, and not be so uptight. Let loose and have fun, kids do it all the time and we could learn a thing or two from them.
