Christmas Decorating

It’s December and time to get all your Christmas Decorating complete!! Bringing the spirit of Christmas home makes everyone feel festive. Include your kids as much as they want to be involved, it can be such a great family night.
Everyone has their own colors that they love, so why not use the colors that make you feel warm and festive, it’s your home, be creative, break some rules, and have some fun!!!

Can’t find the perfect thing to go with your décor? Then make it!!! Just use your imagination and be creative, see what you have to work with perhaps before you go shopping.

Pillows, nutcrackers, window decals, Advent calendars are all great way to involve your kids, let them help with the tree!! Get them to write a letter to Santa, watch their eyes light up and sparkle, Christmas really is so magical.

Don’t forget about outside, have you looked around and enjoyed some of the great colors and decorations on other people’s houses? It’s so bright and festive out there. My street has so many pretty lights and décor, makes me smile every time I drive by.

You don’t have to break the bank to get into decorating.  Shop around there are so many different things out there at such a great price and you can always tweak it. Home Sense, Micheals, Urban Barn, Urban Home, Parkland Nurseries….and many many more are great places to look.  There are deals out there you just have to shop around, and if you want, buy after Christmas for next year, because everything goes on SALE!!! Micheals has an app, you can get coupons all the time and they scan the bar code right off your phone.

It's fun to decorate your home for Christmas, and involving your family really makes for a great festive season!!! Merry Christmas, and happy holidays to all.

Festival of Homes

I decorated a home again this year for Festival of Homes, money raised goes to the food bank. Christmas is all about helping those in need, and I feel so warm inside every time I do something.  It is a sense of fulfillment,  and an inspiration to see how many nice giving people are still out there. I am really looking forward to this event, and I thank Royal LePage for asking me to be a part of it.

Wishing everyone a safe and fantastic christmas season this year. I am so in the spirit with festival of trees and festival of homes, I can't wait to actually decorate my own place!!!

Find your color inspiration

We are all emotional creatures and life constantly inspires emotions within us. Taking a hike in nature can make you feel so serene and peaceful, where a bright orange cafe might stimulate some creativity!

Color can invoke a very strong emotional response to your senses and before you decorate, take some time to figure out how you want to feel. Spend some time in that space and try to really get a feel for it.

Some basic principles to remember when trying to choose your color palette:

Yellow is welcoming and sunny
Orange can stimulate creativity and are warm and cozy
Reds are passionate, daring and intimate
Pinks are fun, positive, feminine and lively
Green represents nature and are both invigorating as well as restful and serene
Blue is connected to the sky and water so they are associated with calmness and clear thinking
Violets can be sexy while blue violets can be very spiritual

Take inspiration from around you. Take note of how colors you see really make you feel inside before selecting the best palette that will work for you!!!

The look and feel of your home plays a major role in the sale of the property

Yes it may be true that not so long ago you could just tidy up your home, clean the yard and pop a for sale sign on the front lawn. But let's face it the markets have changed and we are competing with brand new housing construction while you are trying to sell your house. You want to impact the equity of the house and have the highest emotional impact on the buyer. You want your home to stand out and be the next home for the buyer. You don't want them to walk away wanting to shop around.

How do you stand out you say?

Getting your home staged! Let's face it, not everyone has the eye to envision the space to work out for them and their needs. So if you are trying to sell your house empty, or so over loaded with stuff that isn't going to be so appealing to Mr. Buyer, the guy/girl you want to buy your place and for as much money as you can get!!! Your money is important to you, you work hard for it, so why not get the most back from your investment that you can??

Helping potential buyers to feel that the space can work for them does work, and get's you moving forward a lot sooner to your next destination!!!

Enlighten your potential buyers so that they don't over look your home. Stand out and let them hear that your house is the next home for them and their family. Let them jump for joy so they can finally stop shopping around for a new home because when they walked into your place, they knew they couldn't leave without buying it.

The look and feel of your home plays a major roll in the sale of the property.

Journal anyone???

As much as I know I need to journal more (as its benefits are indescribable) I have always found an excuse to not keep up with it. I didn't know what to write and I didn't want to just always complain when I wrote (as that is what I found myself writing). So it just wasn't happening.

Well my mom bought me this journal and I am hooked! It tells you a small stores and a few quotes and scriptures to help open your heart and help you to write about being grateful no matter what mountain you seem to be climbing. You can always find the greatness in yourself if you just open your eyes.

I read a story the other day about carrying a sack on your back with all your negative thoughts and your past. On your front carry all that you are grateful for! Cut a hole in the sack so the past gets left behind and your greatness leads your front and keeps pushing you forward on your path!

The more you let go and accept what is coming your way the more empowered you will start to feel. I really believe that we all have the power to be great we just have to find the strength and courage in ourselves to love ourselves that much!

Busy working moms!

Hey all you busy mompreneurs!!! I found these at a little store in Invermere this weekend and I absolutely LOVE them!!! On days that I just don't have the time for a work out, I can pull a card and do a pose or mediation that my body and mind is thirsting for! I'm telling you it's so amazing and gives you a nice new boost of energy to continue on with your day! There has to be a way you can spare 10 minutes for yourself! And when you find more time to go to a yoga class then I highly recommend The Amaryllis center for Hot Yoga!!! If you don't take time for you and your health you are only hurting yourself. Work hard, play hard and Live your Life, cause you only have 1 shot at it.
Love and dream big
